About the Center

To support families participating in HCS At Home or in Cohort A and Cohort B during phase 2, we are proud to open our doors as a Virtual Learning Center.

In this small group setting, our trained staff will guide students in their full-time remote learning. Girls will find a safe and supportive environment to help them succeed.

  1. How can I enroll my daughter? Email or call (423)269-7410.

  2. Are spots limited? Yes, to maintain social distancing guidelines, enrollment is limited to 40 girls. These spots will fill on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each classroom has the capacity for seven students and one program coordinator.

  3. How can I ensure my daughter's health and safety? We have implemented strict health and safety guidelines to protect our girls, staff and community. Each participant is expected to abide by these standards, including wearing masks, social distancing and symptom checks. Students who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed in the center.

  4. Are masks required? Yes. All students and staff are expected to wear a mask at all times.

  5. Where is the center located? Our center is located at Brainerd United Methodist Church (4315 Brainerd Road).

  6. When does the center open? The center is expected to open on Monday, August 31. It will be open Monday-Thursday from 7:00am-4:00pm.

  7. Why girls only? At Girls Inc. of Chattanooga, we inspire and equip all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Traditionally, we offer in-school and out-of-school programs to help girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face. To address the academic needs of our girls during this time, we have adapted our model to offer full-day support during this virtual learning period.

  8. Is this a replacement for Hamilton County At Home? No, the virtual learning center is designed to support girls in their virtual school work. A trained staff member will supervise each classroom and guide students in their learning. All instruction and curriculum are provided by the district to your child. We are here to support girls and give working parents some peace of mind.

  9. What is the cost? The cost for each girl is $25/week.

  10. Will Girls Inc. offer their traditional selection of afterschool programs? Yes, we still offer afterschool programs for girls ages 6-18. This programming is separate from our Virtual Learning Center; students may participate in the Virtual Learning Center, afterschool programs or both. However, enrollment in one does not guarantee enrollment in the other and we anticipate that spots will fill quickly. A variety of afterschool programs are offered Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Stay tuned for more details regarding enrollment. For specific questions, email

  11. Where can I learn more? Fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Or contact our Program Support Administrator, Samantha Doss ( or (423)269-7410). We will continue to update this page as more information is made available.
