PROGRAM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Program volunteers engage directly with our girls in a classroom setting. They can fill a variety of roles such as Volunteer Mentors, Program Interns and various one-time opportunities. Pllease keep in mind that these opportunities have shifted in response to COVID-19.
Classroom Assistant
In-person
Must be able to commit 3 hours at least 1 day/week
Girls Inc. is in search of interested volunteers to support our program staff in our Virtual Learning Center. Volunteers will work with a small group of learners or one-on-one to provide assistance with schoolwork or guidance with areas that may need extra attention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Always represents Girls Inc. in a professional manner.

Supports programming staff with facilitating activities and assisting with preparation of daily activities
-
Assists to motivate and inspire girls to be actively engaged in all programs and activities
-
Supervises participants during free time (i.e. arts and crafts, physical fitness in gym and/or playground, etc.), lunch and snack periods, field trips and group activities
-
1 on 1 reading and tutoring with participants as needed
-
Assists with bathroom breaks of participants
Administrative Assistant
In-Person
Must be able to commit to at least 1 hour a day/week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Always represent Girls Inc. in a professional manner

Assist the Program Support Admin with data entry, filing, and organization

Assist the Program Support Admin with creating flyers, newsletter, and emails to families
-
Assist with maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the Girls Inc. facility
Lunch/Snack Volunteer
In-Person
Must be able to commit to at least 1 to 1.5 hours days/week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Always represent Girls Inc. in a professional manner

Supervise lunch and snack time with participants, keeping girls seated while eating, helping to warm-up food, and supervising bathroom breaks during this time

Supervising girls during Fun and Fitness time after lunch or snack
Zoom Classroom Monitor
Virtual
Must be able to commit to 30-60min
The Zoom Classroom Monitor is a vital role in our virtual programs and evaluation. This volunteer would be responsible for tracking attendance and engaging with girls on zoom
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Track attendance, including name and sign in/out times
-
Complete WRAP report (weekly recap of activities ad attendance)

Keep girls engaged with interactive questions in the chatroom
-
Assist host by admitting attendees in waiting room
Skills and Requirements:

Must have access to Wi-Fi and computer with video capability
YouTube Extraordinaire
Remote
May be completed at your own pace
A Girls Inc. YouTube Extraordinaire will develop video content to inform and inspire girls in new and exciting activities, crafts and experiences. This individual is responsible for creating, recording and editing the content to be uploaded on the Girls Inc. of Chattanooga YouTube page. Examples include read alouds, DIYs or how-to videos.

Content should be 10-15 minutes and may be a one-time video or part of a recurring series
