19th ANNUAL

UNBOUGHT & UNBOSSED

NOMINATIONS OPEN!

Girls Inc. of Chattanooga’s UnBought & UnBossed Awards proudly honors women in the greater Chattanooga area who, through their career achievements or community leadership, have improved the lives of girls and women. The strongest nominees have been trailblazers in their careers, made an impact through exceptional community service, and/or volunteered with girls to make a difference in their lives.

The UnBought & UnBossed Awards began in 2005 to celebrate local female role models who embody the ideals of former U.S. Representative Shirley Chisholm. She was described as a woman who was “determined, intelligent and audacious in her beliefs.” Chisholm was the first black woman to serve in Congress and the first woman to run for President. Our event is named after the phrase coined by Chisholm, who declared herself “unbought and unbossed.”

Girls Inc. of Chattanooga is accepting nominations from the community now through October 16th. Completed nomination forms must be submitted by the deadline. Your nominee will be contacted to complete an additional nominee form. Nominee must be available November 16th for an announcement event and March 24th for the UnBought & UnBossed Luncheon. Late nominations will not be considered. For questions or comments contact Taylor Hixson at thixson@girlsincofchatt.org
